Here is a restaurant that has everything going for it, but there seems to be something missing here.

Here is a restaurant that has everything going for it - lovely property, a warm and inviting dining room, a menu that, while not creative, offers popular dishes, and a beautiful wine list. We don't know why there seems to be something missing here, unless it is that the expectation is just too high. Everything seems to be in place, but it may be that even good is not enough when you are expecting great. For example, we love paella and Bayleaf's is described as a blend of lobster, shrimp, clams, chorizo & calamari on baked Spanish Rice. We also have a fondness for Beef Wellington, described here as being wrapped in puff pastry and layered with foie gras and quail egg. Both dishes have lip-smacking possibilities, but were ultimately a let down. Let's hope there is a fix in store.
