AKA is not yet offering the consistency required by savvy Napa diners

We have had nice times during both of our visits here, though the restaurant is having trouble getting a handle on what it wants to be, and thus cc. We like to see hard work rewarded, and owner Robert Simon has certainly dedicated himself to providing excellent food – our filet, fresh corn soup with curry oil, fresh veggie pasta, and salads have all been terrific. Desserts are “must try.”

The wine list is adequate, and will no doubt be upgraded should the crowds increase on a frequent basis. Our only real problem was the service. The staff is nice but has little sense of timing. There has been plenty of time to correct this. Even with the present problems, this can be a nice stop in St. Helena.
