For elegant dining plus a view, few restaurants in the Valley compare to Auberge Du Soleil.
The restaurant features rich interiors accented with abstract paintings, exposed beams, and warm wood furnishings. We recommend taking some time for either lunch or dinner, while first relaxing on the terrace surrounding the dining room, or even in the bar. Both areas provide top shelf cocktails, great wines, and stunning panoramas.
But the view is terrific from the restaurant too, as is the well prepared and interesting California cuisine served by Chef Robert Curry. If available, consider the Juniper scented Fallow deer; the bacon wrapped veal with mushrooms and truffles, the Scottish salmon, and the fresh corn soup with fried oysters. The menu is set up to be a tasting menu at $105 for four courses, but the restaurant allows you to also dine a la carte. That is appreciated. A tasting menu is available for about $125 for food, and $213 with wine pairings (the pairing fee is a bit high in our opinion - you can do as well for less at other Napa restaurants). Nevertheless, the wine list as fine any place in the U.S., so it isn't surprising that Auberge is the choice of many of the vintners in the Valley when they want to experience a special evening.
